Assistant Teacher Application

 

    • Junior Assistant Intern Program
      • Program description
        • This program gives ADA Students the opportunity to learn the Art of Teaching Dance by immediately applying the lessons they learn in the studio. ADA is a "Teaching" School. We don't simple teach students to dance, we teach student to teach.
        • Each Junior assistant is assigned 1-4 classes to assist and must be committed for the entire season
        • Internship is an unpaid position
      • Student Requirements for Junior Internship
        • 11-18 years old
        • Desire to teach and inspire younger students
        • Considering Dance/ entertainment as a career
        • Is a positive role model for peers and younger ADA students
        • Demonstrates natural confidence and poise
        • Demonstrates leadership qualities
        • Generally a happy friendly person
        • Follows ADA Dress code and rules
        • Must attend free schedule meetings, training sessions, and 1 paid seminar per season Graduation
      • Graduation
        • Must be a junior assistant for a minimum of 1 dance season
        • Must request and receive a positive evaluation from the instructor/ instructors they are working under
        • Must be capable of teaching a 1/2 class on their own

 

    • Senior Assistant Program
      • Program Description
        • The senior assistant program is the next step on the road to becoming an ADA instructor. After graduating from the junior program you can be invited to become a part of this program.
        • Each Senior assistant is assigned 1-4 classes to assist and must be committed for the entire season
        • Senior Assistants receive a discount on their monthly tuition in exchange for Assisting hours
        • Must attend free schedule meetings/ training sessions
      • Student Requirement for senior Assistant Program
        • 12-18 years old
        • Desire to teach and inspire younger students
        • Considering Dance/ entertainment as a career
        • Is a role model for peers and younger ADA students
        • Generally a happy friendly person
        • Follows ADA Dress code and rules
        • Demonstrates natural confidence and poise
        • Demonstrates leadership qualities
        • Generally a happy friendly person
      • Graduation
        • Must be a Senior assistant for a minimum of 1 dance season
        • Must request and receive a positive evaluation from the instructor/ instructors they are working under
        • Must be capable of teaching a 1 full hour class on their own
        • Must be 15 years old

    • Substitute Student Teaching Program
      • Program Details
        • This program is designed to prepare the young instructor for teaching regular weekly classes. While being a substitute teacher, the student will learn to interact with a class on their own.
        • Substitute Student Teachers receive a discount on their monthly tuition in exchange for substitute hours
        • Each Substitute teacher must have a flexible schedule which will allow for last minute subbing.
        • Must attend free schedule meetings/ training sessions
      •  Requirement for Substitute teaching Program
        • 15-18 years old
        • Desire to teach and inspire younger students
        • Considering Dance/ entertainment as a career
        • Is a role model for peers and younger ADA students
        • Demonstrates natural confidence and poise
        • Demonstrates leadership qualities
        • Generally a happy friendly person
        • Has completed Senior Assistant program and or is over 15 years old
      • Graduation
        • Must be a Substitute teach  minimum of 1 dance season
        • ADA staff inquires to select parents on the performance of the substitute. Positive review.
        • Must be 16 years old.
