Xtreme Auditions
o Annually scheduled for August of each year
o Students audition for placement in Xtreme Routines

Choreography Camp
o Annually Scheduled 4 day block of time for late August, Sept of each year
o
Students learn a large portion of their Xtreme routines
in this camp
o
All Xtreme Team Members are required to participate
in this camp
o
Failure to attend will result in exclusion from the
piece being taught
· Weekly classes September through August
o Students maintain and improve skills.
o Attending weekly classes and performing in the December and June show is required.
Make up all missed classes in an equal or lower level class.
o Please submit an “Excused Absence Form” to the front desk 2 wks
prior to your absence

Mandatory Weekly Xtreme Rehearsals
o
Xtreme Students will learn, clean, and rehearsal
their competition routines in these rehearsals
o Please schedule family dinners, parties, and other personal events around these dates and times
o
Good attendance ensures that choreography doesn’t
have to be re-taught due to student absences
· Auburn Dance Academy has the right to remove
a dancer from a piece if he/she missed more than one day of classes in a month. · Auburn Dance Academy will be teaching technique classes every Saturday.
All xtreme students will be required to attend 3 of the 4 tech classes per month. You will be allowed
to choose which Saturdays fit best in your schedule.
· Students will be required to rehearse on some Saturdays. We will provide a
schedule of routines and dates in advance so there is no question. Absences on Saturday rehearsals will
not be permitted.
o All Xtreme dancers must be present to rehearsal the week before a competition. Absent dancers will not compete
o
All dancers must be present for all National rehearsals
in the summer in order to compete at nationals
· Annual Saturday Rehearsals
o In the month of January ADA holds required Xtreme rehearsals

Missing these rehearsal will not be permitted and may result in being
removed from the first competition
· Emergency Rehearsals
o If there is a need for an emergency rehearsal it will be called with parent approval

o One required conventions for level 3 and up
o One out of state competition which is a week long trip

ADA gives the Xtreme Students the opportunity to take class from a variety of different instructors (participation required)

· Competitive Solos, Duos, Trios and Private Lessons
o Please show your interest on your Xtreme request form which is passed out at auditions
o Soloist and duo/trio partners competing in Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Character, Tap, or Open are required to
take one extra ballet tech class per week in addition to their Xtreme requirements
o If selected, you will be required to pay for private lessons to learn your dance. Private
lessons are scheduled at your instructor’s discretion
o Fees

Solos- at choreographers/ teachers
discretion. (approximately $40-$65 per hour)
§ Duos- at choreographers/ teachers discretion in relation to the teacher solo cost

Trios- at choreographers/ teachers

Private lessons must be paid
for before scheduling in this studio room time log book
o For levels 6 and 7 minimum of 12 lessons may be required to learn and clean your solo, duo, or
trio before the competition season starts in January
o Levels 1– 5 may require weekly lessons
o Dancers must attended or make up their weekly ballet classes in order to be scheduled for private lessons. NEW!

· Competitions/Conventions/Performances
o The new competition schedule will be released in October at the lastest.
o In addition to the required competitions, We will offer a schedule of additional
competitions and convention for those dancers who would like participate, please sign up at the front desk to attend extra
competitions

All competition fees are charged by the Competition
Company, not ADA
o
Xtreme Showcase/Mock Competition at a PAC
o Early in the season we hold a Mock Competition in which our own team competes against each other
o The fee is $8.00 per dancer per routine
o Performances
§
Malls, charity events, YMCA,
Key Arena, Winterfest, Fairs, parades, sporting events performance opportunities are provided
§

On Competition Day
o Dancers must be at the competition dressed and ready to go on stage 2 hours before your scheduled time
o Routines will not be held for late arrivals and competition fees will not be
refunded
o
All dancers must be backstage (dressed and made up)
15 routines before their scheduled routine
o The exact performance time for your routine will not be known until the Tuesday before the competition
o Xtreme Team Members are required to wear ADA cover-ups for the awards and in
the theater
§ If
a dancer does not wear their warm up for awards, the clients account will be charge $25 non compliance fee. You
will not be warned that this fee was charged to your account. All ADA coaches will be making notes from the audience

Trophies and Awards
o Awards given to groups will be property of Auburn Dance Academy. They will be displayed
o Solo/ duo/ trio trophies are kept by the dancers
o Trophies are on sale at all the competitions so each dancer can purchase one if they wish
o The dancer who takes the trophy home from the competition should neatly attach
a label with the routine name on it. Then, bring it back to the studio for display
o Prize money is subject to 20% government taxes. The remainder will be divided
between the winners

Apparel and Make-up

Rehearsal Uniforms Each dancer is required to purchase a Xtreme rehearsal uniform to be worn at all rehearsals
All dancers who do not come in the correct uniform will have a $5 charge on their account. Dancers who are not wearing the correct shoes will have a $5 charge to their account.

Make-up and Hair

Xtreme members are required to own the same hair
and make up supplies which can be purchased from ADA
· Physical
o All level 5 through 7 team members must have an annual doctors physical

School Sports and Commitments
o Activity Request
§
In order to participate in an after school sport
or activity, you must request an approval through the Choreographer
§ Fill out a request form and turn it into the front counter
§ The leader of your other activity must complete their portion of the request
form
§
No excused absences from rehearsals or regular class
will be given for a extra activities
